Extension of royal beneficiary declaration

With the publication in the Official Gazette of Decree Law 43/2021, the obligation to file the declaration of beneficial owners for companies under Romanian law has been postponed as per Law 129 of 2019.

The regulatory act analyzed today brings timely provisions regarding the submission of the declaration at the actual beneficiary provided for in Law No. 129/2019 on combating money laundering.

The deadline for submission of the declaration is extended to October 1, 2021.

The declaration may be made by private signature or electronic signature and may be communicated to the Registrar of Companies electronically or by mail/courier.

The statement may also be made before the representative of the Business Registry Office or may be made before the notary or attested by a lawyer and may be communicated personally or through a representative.

Please note: at this time the Registrar of Companies has developed an application through which you can submit the declaration with the real beneficiary directly on its website.
