Form 088: new nightmare of Romanian companies

The latest issue of the financial journal“Capital” addressed the issue related to the complexity of the Form 088 for VAT registration of new companies and others (even active companies in some cases). Form 088 has become the new nightmare for Romanian companies.

Indeed, it is recalled that in the past two months ANAF has handed down many notifications for re-registration for VAT purposes for taxpayers who had changes of directors/members or registered office in 2015. The retort from ANAF officials tried to justify the need for this bureaucratic procedure with the fight against evasion. Gelu Diaconu, head of ANAF, said during an interview with Europa FM that there are thousands of companies established only in Bucharest domiciled in law firms that have no capacity to develop an economic activity and with groups of evaders behind them.
