According to current labor regulations, Wednesday, November 30 – St. Andrew’s Day and Thursday, December 1 – The National Holiday of Romania are public holidays. The Labor Code stipulates that no work is done on public holidays, regardless of whether it is by employees of the private or public system, the employer having the obligation to grant the day off by law, as a request from the employees is not necessary.
Exceptionally, only employees working in specific sectors may work on holidays and particularly in the sectors: health care, public canteen or in units where the activity cannot be interrupted due to the character of the production process or the specifics of the activity.
The employer, who has performed the activity within the limits of the exceptions provided for in the Labor Code, is obliged to compensate such day by granting corresponding time off, in
more than 30 calendar days. If on the holiday the employee performs work and such day cannot be compensated even within the legal time limit stated above, then the employer is obliged to grant a salary increase of at least 100%, corresponding to the work provided.
Given the holidays of November 30 and December 1, we inform you that the Accounting Firm will be closed on December 2, 2022.
